Position: Stock Receival & Dispatch/Weighbridge Operator (Harvest Casual)

We are now seeking a Stock Receival & Dispatch/Weighbridge Operator (Harvest Casual) at our Highbury, WA site, with the potential for ongoing full-time employment. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring the accurate weighing, recording, and inspection of incoming and outgoing stock. 

As the Stock Receival & Dispatch/Weighbridge Operator, you will be responsible for managing the weighbridge, recording stock movements, inspecting loads, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. You will also play a vital role in maintaining safety protocols and supporting our logistics and stock control functions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Weigh and record all incoming and outgoing stock (hay and straw) using the weighbridge system 
  • Allocate weighbridge tickets to all loads and ensure the accuracy of data entry into the Pulse system 
  • Conduct moisture level checks and inspect ARGT tags to confirm the correct load is being delivered 
  • Assign unloading positions to drivers and ensure smooth coordination with the Stock Controller 
  • Collect and record samples to meet quality control requirements 
  • Ensure inventory adjustments and stock control records are up-to-date 
  • Prepare dispatch tickets for outgoing loads, including after-hours collections 
  • Ensure compliance with company quality policies and procedures 
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety protocols and participating in workplace inspections 

Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience in a stock receival, dispatch, or weighbridge operator role, preferably within the agricultural or production sector 
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and independently 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently 
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar stock management systems is advantageous 
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively under pressure 
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures

Position: Loader Driver (Harvest Casual) 
Location: Highbury, WA

If so, Johnsons is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would be available to work during the Western Australian Hay Harvest season in the position of Loader Driver (Harvest Casual) at our Highbury, WA site. Dependant on seasonal conditions, harvest jobs will be available from approximately October 2024 to December 2024. 

You must be able to work flexible hours and the current respective licences.

As a Loader Driver (Harvest Casual), you will be an integral part of the harvest season operations, ensuring the safe and efficient loading of stock feed. Your role will support our production team in delivering quality feed to our customers both domestically and overseas. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Operate front-end loaders to transport, load, and unload baled hay and straw 
  • Assist with the movement and storage of products within the site, ensuring accurate record-keeping for effective stock control management 
  • Perform daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on loader equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety 
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols, ensuring a safe workplace for yourself and your colleagues 
  • Assist with general site duties as needed to support the overall production process 

Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience operating front-end loaders, particularly with baled hay and straw 
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and the ability to follow safety protocols 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the physical demands of the role 
  • A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively under pressure

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Some industrial experience as a Maintenance Fitter or similar role
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, particularly within an FMCG company
  • Forklift and/or Knuckle Boom licence will be looked upon favourably
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Induct new operations staff and contractors, ensuring understanding of safety protocols and procedures
  • Create & Improve procedures and SOP’s and manage their continuous improvement.
  • Conduct site safety audits, maintaining HSE registers and training competency records
  • Manage the issuance of relevant work permits and ensure compliance with safety management systems
  • Asist injured workers with return-to-work rehabilitation.
  • Maintain supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager on safety projects and initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement; and
  • Develop relationships and trust with company personnel, focusing on health, well-being and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, standards and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Skytrust
  • Understanding of manufacturing process and compliance with safety and environmental legislation; and
  • Certification in Work, Health & Safety and Environment, ICAM Investigation and provision of Drug and Alcohol Testing is desirable.
