Due to company growth, we are seeking a dedicated HSE Coordinator with a focus on safety and environmental compliance at our Dooen site in Victoria.  Reporting to the QHSE and Operations Managers, the HSE Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, implementing best practices, and championing a workplace environment that prioritizes the well-being of our employees and the sustainability of our operations.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Induct new operations staff and contractors, ensuring understanding of safety protocols and procedures
  • Create & Improve procedures and SOP’s and manage their continuous improvement.
  • Conduct site safety audits, maintaining HSE registers and training competency records
  • Manage the issuance of relevant work permits and ensure compliance with safety management systems
  • Asist injured workers with return-to-work rehabilitation.
  • Maintain supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager on safety projects and initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement; and
  • Develop relationships and trust with company personnel, focusing on health, well-being and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, standards and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Skytrust
  • Understanding of manufacturing process and compliance with safety and environmental legislation; and
  • Certification in Work, Health & Safety and Environment, ICAM Investigation and provision of Drug and Alcohol Testing is desirable.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various stakeholders
