Alfalfa Hay is grown in South Australia and Victoria under irrigation. The Alfalfa is grown specifically for two markets: race horses and dairy cows.

Alfalfa for horses generally has a finer (thinner) stem, very leafy in texture, green in colour with a very palatable odour. Alfalfa for Dairy cows generally has a thicker stem, leafy in texture, green in colour with a palatable odour.
